A relationship in BNDRY is a named, bidirectional link between two entities. It represents a real-world connection — a director and the company they direct, a beneficial owner and the entity they own, two associated individuals. Together, these links form an ownership and association map that sits alongside each entity's risk and compliance record.
Why relationships matter for compliance
Risk doesn't stop at the edges of a single customer record. A company may appear low-risk in isolation, but if its beneficial owner is a PEP or a sanctioned individual, that risk flows through. Without a picture of who's connected to whom, that exposure isn't visible.
Relationships give you that picture. They're the foundation of Know Your Business (KYB) checks, where you need to identify, verify, and screen all parties connected to a business — not just the business itself. They're also how BNDRY supports ongoing monitoring: if a linked individual's screening result changes, you can see which entities are affected.
How links work
Relationships in BNDRY are bidirectional. When you link Entity A to Entity B, the connection appears on both profiles automatically. You only create it once — there's no need to add it from the other side.
Each link carries a relationship type (Director, Shareholder, Beneficial Owner, and so on) that describes the nature of the connection.
